Canadian Kawasaki Motors fights cancer
Canadian Kawasaki Motors has helped raise more than $15,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Kawasaki celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Ninja this year, and to commemorate the occasion, the company held the National Demo Tour and Ninja Track experience last summer.
Participants were asked to offer donations of $10 or $40 towards the Canadian Cancer Society, with the goal set at $7,500. National Demo Tour and Ninja Track Experience events were held throughout the country, and riders stepped up to the challenge and helped double the goal, raising $15,263.
The money raised will go towards the Wheels of Hope transportation program, which provides cancer patients with travel to treatment centres. The program has been in place for more than 50 years, and last year volunteers in Ontario helped 13,000 patients by driving them to more than 116,000 medical appointments.
Kawasaki representatives handed over the cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society on Thursday, October 9, in Toronto.
