Honda releases the Rebel 1100 for 2021
The Honda Rebel models were initially released in 2017 and offered a manageable, and stylish motorcycle to entice a wide-range of new and experienced riders. Now with the release of the CMX1100 Rebel, Honda hopes to offer a large displacement model that is well-rounded with classic bare-bones “Bobber” styling while offering a modern-day twist.
Its 1,084 cc parallel twin-cylinder engine is paired with an evocative exhaust, selectable torque control, wheelie control, cruise control and three riding modes to create a comprehensive package. The CMX1100 Rebel will be available in a standard six-speed transmission, and an automatic shifting dual-clutch system; a first for the cruiser market.
The Rebel’s combination of a timeless ‘bobber’ look and a unique, forward-looking, contemporary style earned it immediate popularity. By taking the essence of what made the smaller bikes so special, and adding more performance, more character and a wealth of Honda’s most advanced technology, it offers a step up – or across from a different segment altogether. With the CMX1100 Rebel’s seat height at just 700 mm, this stylized model is sure to appeal to a broad-span of riders. Riders moving up in cc’s for their bikes as well as riders looking for something accessible and customizable. The 1,084 cc engine was originally used for the CRF1100L Africa Twin, now it’s been re-tuned for a strong bottom end and offers a mid-range punch to create more character for the new Rebel model. The Rebel’s seat has a detachable passenger section as well as under the seat storage of three litres and a USB charging port.
The CMX1100 Rebel will be available in Bordeaux Red Metallic (Manual Transmission only) and Gunmetal Black Metallic, we can expect to see this new model hitting showroom floors in early 2021 and have no word on the pricing yet.
