There are now a number of options available to couples when trying to decide how to divide assets, ranging from direct negotiations with one another to Court proceedings. This legal advice guide explains the various options and procedures. Regardless of which option you choose, you and your spouse will need to disclose your assets, income and liabilities to determine a settlement. This is called producing your disclosure. The expression ‘spouse’ in this guide will also mean Civil Partner. The various options apply for couples that are undergoing divorce or dissolution proceedings.
