Bereavement support during the COVID-19 pandemic
Losing a loved one is difficult at any time, but during the current COVID-19 pandemic, many of the bereaved are facing additional difficulties and stress. Our bereavement experts are here to provide some guidance.
Bereavement is difficult to deal with in any situation but even more so in these unprecedented times of isolation. The death toll is rising daily and more and more families are being affected by bereavement because of COVID-19.
We understand that losing a loved one is both devastating and stressful at any time, but with the rules on social distancing, many families and friends are unable to say goodbye to their loved ones in funeral gatherings and this can cause additional pain and upset.
It’s difficult to know where to turn to in a time of distress. Slater and Gordon support and work closely with a number of charities who assist those suffering bereavement, both adults and children. Please find details below of those charities who may be able to assist at this difficult time.
Once Upon a Smile
Once Upon a Smile was founded in 2011, by Daniel Jillings and Danny Miller and provides emotional and practical support to bereaved families. They understand that families are often left to grieve alone with no, or little support available and this can often have a devastating impact on family life and children.
