Yamaha announces the 2022 YZF-R7
Yamaha has announced the newest model to be part of the company’s Supersport motorcycle category.
The new YZF-R7 features an ultra-thin lightweight chassis cradling the tried and true 698cc CP2 engine, offering enhanced track-focused features made to embody the R series aggressive racing performance.
The Yamaha YZF-R7 is said to bridge the gap from the entry-level YZF-R3 and the YZF-R1, offering a unique mid-level package at an affordable price point to entice riders of all skill levels.
The YZF-R7’s narrow chassis, lightweight frame and inverted front fork are said to offer exceptional aerodynamics with a racing-inspired cockpit. On the front end is a 41mm KYB inverted fork with adjustable preload, rebound and compression. While the rear features a linked-type Monocross single-shock with adjustable preload and rebound, the rear shock is mounted horizontally and fastened to the crankcase for efficiency in weight and space as well as contributing to mass centralization. The 2022 YZF-R7 also features a new Brembo radial master cylinder providing more linear pressure to the radial mounted, 4 POT front brake callipers, providing reliable braking power through dual 298mm front brake rotors. The model is equipped with an all new full LCD instrument panel, and new adaptive bi-functional LED headlight.
